SPORT AND LEISURE
Walking on 5 100 kilometres of marked itineraries, with treks for all ages and experience: all kinds of hiking trails are to be found through the landscape that has been sculpted through the ages by volcanic eruptions.
The Volcanic nature has shaped the area in a way that seems perfect for cyclists. From the most experienced of riders and downhillers to the family outing, everyone will find that Puy-de-Dôme has endless options.
It is also a wonderful destination for riding holidays. The layout of the fields, the patterns of crops and woodlands, create the perfect horse riding experience.
Flying over the volcanoes in a hot-air balloon or paragliding, mountain biking, canoeing, climbing or skiing and husky sleigh riding..., are also original means to discover the Puy-de-Dôme.
A racing circuit, the Charade Circuit, close to the city, using closed-off public roads held the French Grand Prix in 1965, 1969, 1970 and 1972.
You may also feel like a Golf experience in harmony with some of nature's most outstanding surroundings.
